I think the idea that men or women can’t take a joke is what sets us back. Telling someone an offensive joke and expecting them to get it and laugh is treating them like an equal. If I didn’t think someone would understand a racist or sexist joke made in jest, most of the time it means I don’t think they’re smart enough to know that I’m only kidding.

Jews aren’t cheap.

Black aren’t lazy.

Women aren’t crazy.

Men aren’t pigs.

And that’s exactly why jokes about cheap jews, lazy blacks, crazy women and piggish men are funny.
